Who can apply

Homeowners, including private landlords, replacing a fossil fuel heating system in England or Wales
Self-funded new-build self-builders (not developer-built new builds)
Small and medium-sized businesses, including sole traders and landlords of commercial premises
Small non-domestic properties such as places of worship, community halls and small charities
Anyone with a valid EPC (no outstanding loft or cavity wall insulation recommendations) and no previous BUS grant on the property

Who isn't covered

New-build homes built by a developer for sale or rent
Social housing funded through other government heating schemes
Properties already heated by a heat pump, or that have received a BUS grant before
Homes with outstanding recommended loft or cavity wall insulation not yet installed
Properties outside England and Wales

Businesses can apply too

The scheme isn't just for homeowners. Small and medium-sized businesses — offices, farms, shops, hospitality sites — can claim the same £7,500 grant when replacing fossil fuel heating with an air source heat pump, alongside landlords and non-domestic small properties such as village halls. We handle the commercial application the same way as a domestic one: survey, eligibility check, and paperwork submitted on your behalf.
